Mission & Purpose

Columbia Karate Academy (CKA) has served the communities of Monroe County and South St. Louis county since October of 2004. Our mission at CKA is to focus on practical, contemporary sport karate skills while promoting a lifestyle which includes physical, mental, social and spiritual health.

Our two main objectives are to prepare our members for black belt testing through the World Shitoryu Karatedo Federation (WSKF) and to prepare athletes for domestic and foreign championships.

We accomplish this by assuring our athletes keep their skills and knowledge up to date by training, competing, and attending ongoing education. We all follow the standards and protocols established by the World Karate Federation (WKF) and USA National Karatedo Federation (USA-NKF) for competition.

CKA offers high-quality martial arts instruction at a reasonable tuition. We require that you try it for a week for free before investing in any of our programs. We host classes for all ages in traditional karate, pilates, and we also have mixed martial arts (MMA) classes for ages 16 and over.
